The following message is from Â鶹ӰÒô High School Interim Principal Kandie Antonetti:
Dear families:
We wanted to let you know that we have learned that one of our teachers included inappropriate questions in a survey given to students in one of our Family and Consumer Science classes earlier this week.
Four questions in a 28-question survey given to students in a Lifespan Studies class on Monday asked students to consider “would you rather” options that included sexual content. The assignment was part of a lesson on moral dilemmas.
The Google Classroom link to this survey was taken down immediately when this came to our attention Tuesday morning. The teacher was absent from school Monday and has told us that they prepared the survey in advance by copying questions from an external source. They have taken full responsibility, and acknowledged that they did not review the list of questions thoroughly before asking a substitute to give the assignment in their absence Monday.
Neither the teacher who prepared the survey, nor the substitute who was present when students were asked to complete it, are currently working at Â鶹ӰÒô High School, pending a full review of this matter by our Human Resources Division.
We apologize for any discomfort or concern these inappropriate survey questions may have caused for our students or your families. Please feel free to contact me at school if you have any additional questions.
