Developing essential money skills is a life skill that every high school student should master to set themselves up for success now and in the future!
On May 22, Â鶹ӰÒô High School junior and senior business students had the opportrunity to visit Bank of America to learn about personal finance and explore careers in banking. During their visit, students participated in a seminar focused on personal financial planning, examining their financial priorities and setting achievable short- and long-term money goals. They also learned about saving, budgeting, student loans and credit basics.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to engage with Bank of America employees from retail banking and Merrill teams, learning about their roles, education and career journeys. During the career panel, students had the opportunity to ask quesetions and hear anecdotes and advice from the panelists.
Â鶹ӰÒô High business teacher Christopher Austen shared, "Through this collaboration, students gain valuable insights into personal finance and career opportunities delivered by industry professionals. This initiative enables students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting. It also allows them to make well-informed decisions about their futures.”
