Â鶹ӰÒô High students took a deep dive into learning fancy footwork in a free Masterclass Workshop with Freddy Ramirez on Monday afternoon.
Ramirez is a performer, choreographer and teacher who serves as the associate artist and choreographer at Capital Repertory Theatre, the assistant artistic director at the Northeast Ballet Company and the director of dance and resident choreographer at The School of Performing Arts at Proctors.
"My biggest takeaway is putting more personality into your dance," said freshman participant Skylar Creamer. "When a choreographer gives you choreography, you are not just doing what they give you — you are putting yourself into it."
During the workshop, students had the opportunity to learn foundational dance skills and techniques while also exploring the power of body language and facial expressions on the dance floor.
Freddy Ramirez will lead another dance workshop on Monday, Oct. 5, for any students who are interested in participating.
Additionally, the Â鶹ӰÒô High Theater Ensemble will be offering an acting workshop with Noëlle Gentile on Thursday, Oct. 1 and Friday, Oct. 9.
