Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High School put hold-in-place procedures in place for about 30 minutes as a precautionary measure Monday afternoon after the Âé¶¹Ó°Òô Police Department reported receiving a threatening "swatting" call alleging a shooting incident at the high school. There was no evidence of such an incident, which a police investigation confirmed.
The school entered a hold-in-place and Âé¶¹Ó°Òô police responded to the high school shortly after 2 p.m. Monday. During a hold-in-place, movement is limited in hallways but instruction continues in classrooms.
No other City School District of Âé¶¹Ó°Òô schools were targeted in the call police received Monday afternoon.
Police confirmed there was no threat to Âé¶¹Ó°Òô High and the school returned to regular security measures at 2:30 p.m.
"Swatting" is an effort by an individual or organization to make phone calls to law enforcement officials to falsely report security threats.
