Ilan Kligerman grappled his way to first place on Sunday in the Section 2 Class A wrestling tournament in the 110-pound weight class.
The senior is the first Â鶹ӰÒô High School student-athlete to win a Class A sectional championship since Shawn Berman (96 pounds) in 2011.
Four additional Falcons placed at Sunday's Class A meet:
- Tabriz Khetab (138) - Fourth place
- Dillon Stevens (285) - Sixth place
- Jose Andrades-Pabon (152) - Sixth place
- Klue Thaw (118) - Sixth place
Kligerman and Khetab move on to next weekend's Section 2 wrestling tournament, seeking to become the first Â鶹ӰÒô High wrestlers to advance to the state tournament since Berman in 2011.
